Isabel Alcántara is a Mexican producer and director with a background in journalism. Currently, she is a producer at Condé Nast Entertainment, where she creates a variety of digital shows for the renowned food brands, Bon Appétit and Epicurious.

Her role encompasses everything from selecting locations and casting talent to collaborating with creative and programming teams to ensure the content aligns with the brands’ vision and meets high audience expectations.

She was part of Chicken & Egg Pictures’ inaugural Accelerator Lab, was a 2017 BAVC MediaMaker Fellow, a 2018-2019 Firelight Doc Lab Fellow, and an International Women in Media grantee. Her feature documentary, The Age of Water, has been selected by PBS to premiere in their indie-doc showcase (POV) in 2024.

She has written, shot and directed content for online publications such as The Outline, Slate, Paper and the GLAAD Award winning queer platform, Autostraddle.
